Cheryl cooks all meals, makes sourdough bread, biscuits and nibbles as well as chutneys, jams, curds, marmalades which you may purchase when you leave. Andy is the waiter, gardener and wood chopper.
Interaction with Andy and Cheryl during the day is determined by you.
Lush Pastures opened in early 2012 after being designed by Max Pritchard and built on land purchased for the amazing panoramic views across hills and valleys to the sea. The concept evolved from a desire for Cheryl to indulge in her passion of cooking and Andy to indulge in his passion of growing vegetables after twenty plus years of living in Glenelg raising their son, preceded by a decade of moving around Australia courtesy of the Army.
You may check in from 3.00pm (earlier if previously arranged) on day of arrival and check out by 3.00pm on Sunday. Accommodation is in a freestanding lodge with either a king bed or two long single beds, tastefully furnished for comfort and enjoyment with everything expected in luxury accommodation. Each lodge has the same spectacular view to the west with privacy via an external remote controlled blind.
You choose the time of your breakfast on both days with previous guests choosing 7.00am (to catch the ferry to KI) to 11.00am (reading papers online in bed) and everything in between!
As one guest wrote on Trip Advisor (TA) on 20 June 2013 “Everything is tailored to the visitor and no matter whether you are a night owl who sleeps in until midday, or a lark who heads out for a walk at day break, Cheryl and Andy provide meals and suggestions for local activities to suit your schedule and interests.”
You decide whether you’ll just chill out and stay put at Lush Pastures or check out the local area from Myponga, Yankalilla, Carrickalinga, Normanville, Second Valley, Cape Jervis, Victor Harbor, Ingalalla Falls, brewery, wineries, cheesemongers, providores, artists, the beach, diving on HMAS Hobart, golf at Lady Bay, the Heysen Trail.
